Synchronization of silicon thermal free-carrier oscillators

Recent exploration of collective phenomena in oscillator arrays has highlighted the potential to access a range physical phenomena, from fundamental quantum many-body dynamics solution practical optimization problems using photonic Ising machines. Spontaneous oscillations often arise these as an imbalance between gain and loss. Due coupling individual arrays, spontaneous oscillation is constrained leads interesting behavior, such synchronized optomechanical ferromagnetic-like delay-coupled optical parametric oscillators, binary phase states coupled laser arrays. A key aspect not only individuals but also their compliance toward neighbor stimuli. Here, we demonstrate thermal free-carrier (FC) oscillators are extremely compliant external excitation up 16th harmonic weak seed.
